Elijah floored by VAR then injury as Well fail to bulge the Fir Park net for first time since November
TOOTHLESS Motherwell still managed to put the bite on Hibs' hopes of pipping them to a top-four place.
But while Jens Berthel Askou's side solidified their own chances of finishing in fourth spot with this stalemate at Fir Park, it was damaging to their ambitions of finishing any higher.
Hibs had cut the gap to the Steelmen in recent weeks but David Gray's side's failure to get the better of Motherwell leaves them six points adrift in the chase for a European place for next season.
JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Motherwell have picked up just one point from their last three games and in terms of their form this season, that run will be viewed as a slump. They did have the ball in the net during the first half of this clash but Elijah Just's effort was ruled out by VAR.
Hibs will view this draw as an opportunity missed but they will still hope that they can overtake the Lanarkshire side over the final seven Premiership games.
400 UP FOR BOYLE
It was a milestone game for Hibs legend Martin Boyle as he made his 400th appearance for the Easter Road side.
The speedy forward will leave Leith this summer when his contract expires but the Australian international has seen it all and done it all in his time at Easter Road. He was part of the side that ended the club's 114-year wait to win the Scottish Cup in 2016 and is also Hibs' all-time top scorer in European matches.
