Wycombe Scot Grimmer eyeing Fulham KO
JACK GRIMMER will never hide his fondness for Fulham but hopes to add them to his list of giant-killing victims this week.
The former Aberdeen kid moved to Craven Cottage aged 17 in 2012. He credits them for his launchpad into a fulfilling 13-year career in the English game.
Highlights include dramatic play-off promotions with Coventry and current club Wycombe, where he's in his seventh season.
The Scottish defender also struck winning goals in two big FA Cup shocks.
There's a Carabao Cup quarter-final place up for grabs at Adams Park on Tuesday against Marco Silva's Premier League stars. And Grimmer believes another surprise could be brewing.
He scored a last-minute clincher on loan for Shrewsbury to send Sheffield Wednesday crashing out the FA Cup in 2016.
Two years later, his brilliant strike for then fourth-tier Coventry beat Stoke keeper Jack Butland to cost Mark Hughes his job at the Potters.
Grimmer recalled: "They were just incredible moments.
"The Sheffield Wednesday one, it's typical struggling at the time but managed to knock out a Championship team in the last minute.
"I remember manager Micky Mellon came in after the game saying the chairman was delighted at 2-2 because wed get a replay at Hillsborough.
