Morgan's mixed it with Messi and is praying his Stateside skills will seal Scotland slot

- FRASER WILSON

I'VE GOT WORLD IN MY EYES

HE has spent the last four years with New York Red Bulls.

But it's a move to San Diego that Lewis Morgan hopes will give him wings.

The 29-year-old is facing a monster trans-American transfer after being traded by the MLS Eastern Conference giants to the side that finished first in the Western Division.

His switch from one coast of the States to the other comes in at a whopping 2500 air miles.

But Morgan insists the stress of the mammoth flit will be worth it if he can get his career flying and book a return journey in just under six months' time.

A trip back east to Boston and Miami. With Scotland. For the World Cup.

It was in Miami where Morgan's American Dream began when he moved to David Beckham's franchise from Celtic in 2020.

And it was back there last year when he got a brutal lesson from the player he holds as the greatest on the planet - Lionel Messi.

Now he hopes his next trip to the Magic City will be with Scotland to face more South American superstars in the colours of Brazil next June.

Speaking MailSport from the Big Apple last to week, Morgan said: "It's a bit stressful just now football's the easy part! "There's so much stuff I need to sort like the house, my girlfriend.

Cary's stuff and my dog! "It's not like an hour's drive from one side of Scotland to the other - I'm five hours on a flight.

"I've only got a few weeks.

Pre-season starts early because we're in the CONCACAF Champions Cup that starts in the first week of February.

"So it's 100 miles an hour at the moment. But it's a fresh start and I can't wait.
