- BY DAN VEVERS and CLAIRE PRENTICE

IT'S TUBERMAN

A FORMER oil executive has been hailed as Aberdeen's "potato man" for sparking a renewed love of gardening across the north-east.

Bob Donald, founder of growing scheme One Seed Forward (OSF), has given away over 10,000 packets of seeds and 1800 kilos of seed potatoes to schools and community groups this year.

His pioneering food education initiative has now spread across Aberdeenshire and Moray.

Bob-who was an accountant in the North Sea industry for 25 years - found his new calling after getting his first allotment nine years ago.

He said: "It was a joy for me to get my hands in the soil and lift the tatties out of the ground.
