It's time to tinker with VAR's flaws

HISTORIC VAR makes its debut in Leith three years ago

THREE years ago Willie Collum was about to hit play on what many feared would be the biggest video nasty Scottish football had ever seen.

The date was October 21, 2022. The venue was Easter Road. VAR's premiere in front of a Friday night sellout at Hibs was awaited with nervous anticipation.

The main characters needn't have worried that night. The only thing that should have come with a X-rating was Hibs' defending as they lost 2-1 to St Johnstone.

It was a privilege to be among the media pack crammed at the back of the main stand on that historic occasion.
