Fleetwood Mac show crowd how to belt out decent tune

- FROM NEIL MCLEMAN AT BETHPAGE BLACK

FLEETWOOD MAC had another Ryder Cup hit... so much so the toughest USA opposition on show was from a hostile American crowd.

Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm joined skipper Luke Donald in winning the first six foursomes matches of their Ryder Cup careers.

Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy also remain unbeaten as a pairing after they beat Harris English and Collin Morikawa for the second time this week.

And Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are now 5-0 together after taking out the top American pairing of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay in the morning action.

Bryson DeChambeau won his first point of this Ryder Cup, in the opening foursomes, playing with local Cam Young. But world No.1 Scottie Scheffler suffered a hat-trick of opening defeats, delivering another flop in a miserable Ryder Cup before Keegan Bradley made the big call to send him back out with DeChambeau in the fourballs

.By contrast, all the European big names have delivered together.

Fleetwood, who went 4-0 with Francesco Molinari in the “Moliwood” pairing of 2018 in Paris, is now 4-0 in foursomes with Masters champion McIlroy in the past two Ryder Cups.

Asked why they combine so well, the Everton fan smiled and said: “It's Rory McIlroy! I can play from a lot of the places where he hits it.

“We loved getting the chance to play together in Rome. Our games match nicely. Obviously we're very close off the course, our families are so close.
