LIAM SCALES has told critics to lay off Adam Idah - and he backed the Celtic striker to be even better next season.

The Irish forward has scored 17 goals this term in all competitions, including three in the Champions League.

But he has failed to nail down a regular starting slot in Brendan Rodgers' Hoops side after arriving for £9million from Norwich.

When Kyogo Furuhashi was sold in January, Idah was expected to step up and be Celtic's main frontman.

But instead, Japanese star Daizen Maeda moved to centre-forward and hit the goal trail, leaving the 24-year-old mostly on the bench.
