Sweet 16 for James as he nets a late leveller before bringing out trophy for a party

JUST when it appeared St Mirren were about to tear up the trophy-day script ...

It was written in the stars that James Forrest should choose his moment - the last two minutes of the Premiership season - to secure his sensational record of having scored in every one of his 16 seasons for Celtic.

The champions paraded the silverware on the way into Celtic Park yesterday.

But they were made it wait until the 94th minute to get the party started when Forrest slammed home an equaliser for what must be the biggest cheer of his career.

The Buddies were never going to roll over. Not with their Euro hopes still alive.

They frustrated the life out of Celtic in the first half as the expectant home support waited impatiently for a breakthrough.

And six minutes after the interval Stephen Robinson's men surged ahead.

Liam Scales failed to properly clear Declan John's free-kick and his header fell for Jonah Ayunga to rifle a low shot past Kasper Schmeichel from 12 yards.

Scotland's player of the year Daizen Maeda somehow contrived to head sub Forrest's cross over from right underneath the bar.

But it was left to Forrest-who else? - to save the party.

The veteran winger kept his composure to slam home from an angle after being slipped in by Alistair Johnston.

Here's the five main talking points from the match...

FORREST FIRE

Nothing could have been more apt than for Forrest to climb off the bench and save a point for Celtic just as the party threatened to go flat.

His 94th-minute equaliser brought the house down.
