Buddies bust the Killie hoodoo to give top-six quest a boost

ST MIRREN burst their Killie hoodoo in style with a top show of clinical finishing that reignited their top-six hopes and put Derek McInnes' men into a relegation dogfight.

Inspired by Caolan Boyd-Munce, the brilliant Buddies burst into a two-goal lead inside 10 minutes as they ended an 11-game winless run against the Ayrshire team that stretched back to February 2021.

Boyd-Munce's strike and Roland Idowu's penalty got them off to a flier.

Second-half goals from Boyd-Munce, Mark O'Hara and Declan John then had St Mirren five up before Bruce Anderson netted a late consolation from the spot.

And delighted Buddies No.2 Brian Kerr admitted it all clicked for the Paisley side.

He said: "It was an excellent performance and it had been coming. We have played really well over the last eight weeks, without the results backing that up. This time we got the performance and the win and it was pleasing to see that.
