They were White Christmas (first film screened at the Liberty Cinema), South Pacific (first film shown at the Rio), West side Story, My Fair Lady, Singing in the Rain, A Star is Born, Gigi, Carmen Jones, Annie Get Your Gun, etc.
How wonderful were the tunes, the lyrics and the rendition of the famous Sinhala songs by Lakshmi Bhai, Deva Suriyasena, HW Rupasinghe (Rupasinghe MasterAdu kale selaveema nisa), WD Amaradeva (Sasara wasana thuru), Ananda Samarakoon (ase madura jeewanaye Geetha), Vincent De Paul Peiris (Sripade samanala kanda pene), Chitra and Somapala(Isurumuniyehi), CT Fernando(Ma bala kale), Sunil Santha (Olu pipeela), Ivor Dennis (Kurulu paradeesaye), Rukmani Devi (Mevila penevi rupe), AMU Raj (Adu kule kiyaala asaranaya).
