The appointment underscores KVPL's deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship, particularly water conservation, at a time when climate change, water scarcity and ecosystem degradation pose growing risks to Sri Lanka's economy and communities. KVPL has been a signatory to the UN Global Compact since 2006, becoming the first plantation company in Sri Lanka to do so, and aligned with the CEO Water Mandate in 2008.
