(IANS) Albania has appointed an AI-powered virtual minister to handle one of the most corruption-prone areas of government public procurement.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Diella, the digital assistant helping e-Albania users with government services since January, will now officially oversee all public tenders.
PM Rama said the move makes sure contracts are handed out fairly. “Diella, the first cabinet member who is not physically present, but has been virtually created by AI, would help make Albania a country where public tenders are 100% free of corruption," he said on Thursday.
