FAMILY STILL AT STALEMATE
PRINCE Harry is set to reopen the rift with the Royal family by speaking at an online event to promote his controversial memoir.
The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with his father and brother is said to be as strained as it has ever been in the wake of the publication of Spare in January.
He is set to answer questions from the public during an international live-stream in which he will discuss “living with loss and the importance of personal healing”.
His publisher Penguin Random House has arranged the audience question-and-answer session for those buying tickets on Saturday.
It comes as friends of the Royal Family say the dispute between Harry, the King and Prince William is at a stalemate.
Harry, 38, wants an apology from his father and brother over how he and Meghan feel they were treated by the Royal Family before deciding whether to accept an invitation to the Coronation on May 6. The King would like to bring his family back together and is keen on reconciling them all, but he and William are in no mood to bow to Harry’s demands or accept his version of events.
Friends say that at some point the family will have to sit down and try to thrash it all out.
But at the moment there is no sign of that happening. One said: “It’s very, very difficult to see how they do that.”
