Power to the people! SSE sparks energy burst with £33bn network upgrade

SSE continues to power ahead with its infrastructure upgrades, as it plugs billions into building out Britain's energy backbone.

In a short trading update last week, SSE confirmed that the business has been performing well ahead of its full-year results, scheduled for May.
As a result, this year’s earnings forecasts have been pushed to the top end of the group's prior guidance.
Longer term, SSE is set to spend £33billion over the five years to 2029/30, with the vast majority of that earmarked for upgrading its UK electricity infrastructure. This spending is expected to help fuel double-digit earnings growth over the coming years. SSE isn’t a one-trick pony though.
