Brazilian Joao pulled the strings, while his Portuguese pal scored his team's second and proved the difference.
Between them and the fact that Wolves manager Vitor Pereira respected the old tournament by picking a strong side meant the Premier League strugglers had enough to swerve an upset.
Pereira felt playing his strongest side would help his side's league campaign.
"It's special, a tradition.
The league is priority but we do not have time to train, so it's important to use the games," he said after his first taste of the FA Cup.
