England crumble to lose first Ashes Test inside two days to a rampant Australia as captain Stokes says: This has got to hurt
WOEFUL England capitulated in Perth to leave Ben Stokes shellshocked and give Australia the lead in the Ashes.
Defeat inside two days - featuring yet another batting collapse and a brilliant century from Australia's Travis Head - was England's fastest in the Ashes in over 100 years.
"I'm a little shellshocked at the moment," Stokes said afterwards as his side went 1-0 down in the five-match series. "I didn't see that one coming."
It was a painful dose of deja vu for the tourists, who were swept aside for 164 yesterday having been bundled out for 172 in the first innings.
