£199m capital gains for Royal London customers

LIFE and pensions firm Royal London is to share out £199million with around 2.4 million customers after its annual earnings jumped by nearly a fifth.

It will make the payouts into its customers' pensions and Stocks and Shares ISAs on April 1, bringing the total paid under the profit share scheme to more than £2billion since 2007. It comes after Royal London grew operating profit by 18% to £327m as new business sales rose 13% to £12.2bn.

Underlying pretax profits lifted by £1m to £261m. This year's profit share payout marks a 10% rise on the £181m paid out in April 2025.
