Pedro's latest draw is Scottish art award

A well-known Crieff artist - whose cartoons regularly featured in the Strathearn Herald for a number of years-has been recognised for his talents in a national awards ceremony.

Peter ‘Pedro’ Brock has been named Scottish Enterprise Caricature Artist and Illustrator of the year 2025, adding to a long list of career accolades achieved by the creative artist.

With a lifelong love for art and illustration, Peter is no stranger to the pages of the Strathearn Herald, having first featured in the paper in December 1978.

He hit the headlines at just 16 after painting a stunning mural for Crieff Hydro featuring the seven dwarves.

Pedro, who was still at school at the time, worked occasionally as a page boy at the hotel, and with Christmas coming hostess Gillian Cranmer commissioned him to produce the work for the reception area and the ballroom.
