Linzi's team go the extra mile for dogs

BRAMHALL Golf Club's Lady Captain Linzi Webster and her volunteer team set themselves a tough target as they celebrated their club's 120-year anniversary and raised funds for her chosen Charity 'Support Dogs' with a rowing challenge of 120km.

Linzi said: “The Rowing Challenge was conceived as a fundraiser for my Lady Captains Charity, 'Support Dogs' and the target distance of 120kms was in recognition of Bramhall Golf Club's 120th Anniversary this year.

“The aim was always to row 'tag team 'style for 120kms in 12 hours.

“I can’t remember why I chose this challenge exactly as I am definitely not a rower and nor were the members of the team, but maybe that was why... we needed a proper challenge!

“A rowing machine was set up in the clubhouse and we started at 7am and we achieved 120kms in 10 hours and 9 minutes.

“We all agreed to continue to 7pm, being the 12 hour time frame originally set.
