Vacant land is suitable for 120 new build homes

Vacant land at Forthside in the city centre looks set to go on the market, with early indications suggesting it could be suitable for 120 new homes.
The site, next to Stirling Engine Shed, is identified as the ‘Urban Riverside Living’ site in the Forthside Masterplan.
It is also allocated for housing in the Local Development Plan and has been subject to review for alternative use and temporary use in recent years.
However, Stirling Council officials say it can be considered a ‘gap’ site - an opportunity that can be readily placed on the market.
Councillors will be asked to approve the move at a special meeting of the council on Thursday.
In a report due before the meeting, officers said: “The Forthside area has been identified as a strategic development opportunity within Stirling for several years, with changes to the masterplan over this period, responding to investment interest and the city’s needs at those points in time.
