Massive charity walk raises a million

A massive charity walk which wound through the Stirlingshire countryside has raised almost a million pounds.

More than 2,000 hikers took part in the Rob Roy Mighty Hike last weekend for Macmillan Cancer Support, with the route making its way from the start point in Callander through the scenic spots around the Trossachs.
The stretch then winds its way above Loch Venachar and towards Loch Drunkie.
The hike offered either a half or full marathon distance for the punishing trek - and the walkers stepped up to the plate, with an incredible £998,000 raised to help fund vital Macmillan information and support services for people living with cancer.
