AGM of JKRA plans to cover rural areas in future: Dilbag Singh

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA) was held on Sunday at the Jammu Golf Club, marking a significant occasion for the region's shooting fraternity.

The meeting witnessed participation from members of the Executive Committee, representatives of District Rifle Associations, and affiliated Rifle Clubs from across the Union Territory.
The meeting was presided over by Dilbag Singh, IPS (Retd.), Founder Patron of the JKRA and former Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir.
The session began with a welcome address by Surinder Singh Sodhi, President of the Association, who thanked members and stakeholders for their steadfast support.
He reaffirmed JKRA's commitment to expanding its reach across every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, especially rural areas, stating, “With the support of Khelo India, the visionary leadership at the Centre and in the UT, and the continued guidance of the Sports Council, JKRA is ready to take shooting sports to the grassroots and beyond.”
Sodhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching Khelo India, a game-changer in India’s sporting journey.
He also thanked LG Manoj Sinha, Sports Minister, Satish Sharma, the Director General of Youth Services and Sports, and the Secretary of the J&K Sports Council for their invaluable support in building sports infrastructure and nurturing talent across the region.
