Minister's praise at £25m centre opening
A GOVERNMENT minister praised a £25million institute of technology as a 'gateway to future careers' as she officially launched it.
Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Institute of Technology (IoT) has been set up to deliver high-quality, higher-level technical skills in priority sectors, including advanced engineering and manufacturing, digital technologies, modern methods of construction and health sciences.
The institute, in Castle Street, Stafford, is led by Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG). Since welcoming its first learners in September, it has brought together a regional educational partnership, which also includes Keele University, Axia Solutions, Burton and South Derbyshire College, South Staffordshire College and Stoke-on-Trent College.
