Stalin unveils 14-point sector-wise blueprint for ‘Tamil Nadu 2030'

Speaking at an event titled “Tamil Nadu 2030 - Kanavugal Meipadum” (Dreams will come true) in Chennai, Mr. Stalin said villages will be transformed into centres of economic growth. A new scheme will be implemented to provide urban amenities in rural areas based on the vision of former President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. “At a time when Gandhi's name is being erased,” the scheme will be named “Uttamar Gandhi Model Villages project,” beginning with 10 village panchayats immediately, he said.

The Chief Minister said five lakh houses will be constructed in rural areas under the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme, and two lakh houses will be constructed in urban areas. Steps will be taken to ensure medical insurance for all. Special camps will be organised for the early detection of cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. The objective of the State is to secure the top rank in India in reducing the Maternal Mortality Rate and Infant Mortality Rate. Mental health counselling centres will be established in every district.
