Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to be elected as leader of the NDA ahead of the formation of a new government under his leadership in the state on November 20.
Mr. Kumar, who will take oath as Bihar CM for a record 10th time, was first elected as leader of the JD(U) legislature party and will be elected as the leader of the NDA at 3.30 p.m., before tendering his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan as head of the outgoing government, sources said.
The JD(U) supremo took stock of preparations for the oath-taking ceremony of the new government in Bihar on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several other Union ministers and CMs of NDA-ruled states are expected to attend the ceremony.
Meanwhile, intense lobbying is underway among the NDA partners to finalise allocation of cabinet berths, and a build a consensus over the post of Assembly Speaker ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.
Janata Dal (United) leader Komal Singh expressed happiness on the enormous victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
She asserted that the women of Bihar want development and know that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will bring it.
Speaking to the reporters, she said, “I am very happy that NDA has secured a big victory in Bihar. Being a woman, I feel very proud that Bihar will be led by Nitish Kumar again.”
Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was appointed as the central observer for the election of Legislature Party leader in Bihar, announced that Samrat Choudhary has been elected as the BJP legislature party leader in Bihar, while Vijay Kumar Sinha has been named as the deputy legislature party leader.
"Whatever responsibility party has given me, I will try to carry forward the expectation of the party. I sincerely thanks all the top leader of the centre, who showed trust in me," Mr. Choudhary said.
Bihar BJP State Unit President Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said the only motive is to make Bihar a developed State.
