WRU HINTS AT NEW OPTIONS

WRU chief Dave Reddin has revealed the union is developing detail around alternative options to the proposed two-team cut to Welsh professional rugby.

- JON DOEL

Reddin's optimal proposal for just two teams has been met with huge opposition from players and the four regions, with many questioning the theory behind halving the number of sides.

Last week, Reddin admitted players’ views were influencing their thinking, and he has now said financial modelling around alternative options, such as dropping to three teams, is being refined before a final proposal is put to the full WRU board in a couple of weeks.
