Rail line wins presenter's heart

HIS fondness for Wales is well-known and now TV and radio host Adrian Chiles has discovered a railway journey across the country that he says is "quietly joyous".

Adrian, who's known for hosting Working Lunch, The One Show and Our Coast, took the Heart of Wales line from Swansea to Craven Arms on a rainy Tuesday and shared his thoughts in his regular Guardian column.

The presenter was enamoured with the trip - rated as one of the best in the world by National Geographic - and enthused about catching the service on a journey to Manchester: "What followed was as quietly joyous a four hours as I've spent on a train, or anywhere else for that matter."
