Play park plan contract awarded

SPECIALIST play equipment company Kompan has been awarded the contract to deliver a brand-new play space for Port Talbot's Vivian Park.

Consultation was carried out with local schools to understand what children in the area really wanted and to ensure the design reflects the needs of the community.

Neath Port Talbot council's cabinet member for streetscene, Cllr Scott Jones, said: "This project supports our corporate objective of ensuring high-quality, accessible and diverse play facilities, physical activities and recreational opportunities for all children and young people.

"We aim to provide opportunities for play working with local schools and families to ensure we have the right equipment in the right places. These goals are at the heart of our refurbishment programme."
