A MARRIED man experiencing a ‐grotesque mid-life crisis‐ had a one-night stand then armed himself with a knife and threatened and effectively abducted a stranger in a fit of jealousy, a court has heard.

- JASON EVANS

David Dallimore was arrested by armed police officers as he forced his victim to drive them away from the scene in his work van.

The defendant's barrister told Swansea Crown Court that, despite what his client had done, he hopes to return to the family and ‐make amends‐ and hopes his wife is prepared to ‐give him a second chance‐.

Craig Jones, prosecuting, told the court that on March 13 this year the defendant was invited to the home of a woman he knew called Sian Lewis by a mutual friend.

He said Dallimore and Ms Lewis spent the evening drinking and socialising and subsequently the pair had sex. The following morning Dallimore gave Ms Lewis his phone number as he left.

However, the court heard that the defendant's behaviour then ‐changed for the worst‐ and he began bombarding Ms Lewis with unwanted texts and calls before turning up at her home in the Manselton area of Swansea late on the evening of March 13 demanding to know who the males in her property were.

The court heard he was ‐clearly under the influence of either alcohol or controlled substances‐ and was asked to leave but he didn’t listen, wedging his foot in the door to keep it open. Ms Lewis managed to push the door shut and the 37-year-old defendant left.

The prosecutor said Dallimore returned to the property in the early hours of the following morning and when the front door was opened ‐rushed‐ inside and pulled a chef-type knife from the waistband of his trouser.
