SWANSEA'S Lord Mayor praised traders and volunteers for their generosity as she launched her charity appeal at Swansea Market.

Councillor Chery! Philpott welcomed crowds to the market on Saturday as she kicked off her Just a Pound appeal, which aims to raise £200,000 for Swansea Bay Health Charity's Going the Extra Mile for Cancer campaign, supporting the South West Wales Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital.
The Phoenix Choir of Wales performed for visitors, and radio and panto star Kev Johns joined the celebrations, helping to spread the word about the fundraising drive.
