Olly Murs has never been afraid of a challenge. In the two years before he auditioned for The X Factor in 2009, he was playing semi-professional football for Witham Town, around the same time he was a member of covers band the Small Town Blaggers, went backpacking alone along Australia's Gold Coast, and even appeared on Deal or No Deal.

After finishing as runner-up in Simon Cowell's aforementioned talent show, Olly enjoyed chart success and was nominated for Brit and Ivor Novello Awards. He also co-hosted The Xtra Factor, became a coach on The Voice UK and presented another talent series, Starstruck, for ITV in 2022.
