SWANSEA CITY last night confirmed a deadline-day move for Celtic striker Adam Idah.

- TOM COLEMAN

The 24-year-old has signed for the Swans for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £6 million, and becomes the club's 10th signing of a hugely busy summer.

The Irishman has signed a five-year deal with the Swans, and will wear the number 33 shirt at his new club, having completed a medical over the weekend.

After a successful loan spell, Idah signed for the Scottish champions in a deal worth £9 million last summer, and would go on to net 29 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants, including in the Champions League.

He told the club's website: "I want the responsibility, and it is one of the main reasons I have come here. I want to have the chance to be the main man, to lead the line and score as many goals as I can.

"Every striker wants that job, and to come here and try push for promotion; if you can be the main man in that then it is an amazing feeling.

"I am really looking forward to trying to do just that and score goals.
