Council's £66k of payouts over mental anguish

A COUNCIL has made three payouts totalling £66,000 to people claiming personal injury for "mental anguish".
Neath Port Talbot council made three separate payments of £33,000, £23,000 and £10,000 in legal settlements.
The figures were revealed among £2m of payouts by councils in Wales for personal injury claims.
The claims were for incidents also including assault, infestation, education supervision, trips, falls, faulty buildings and industrial disease between 2022 and this year.
Cardiff Council, the largest local authority in Wales, had the most claims and highest payouts.
The city council shelled out more than £739,000 in settled personal injury claims between April 2022 and this year, figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act reveal.
