A CARDIFF cricket club has been left “devastated and lost for words” after its scoreboard was set on fire by brazen vandals in broad daylight.
Whitchurch Heath Cricket Club posted images of its scoreboard on fire in an apparent act of vandalism
Whitchurch Heath Cricket Club (WHCC) posted an image on social media appearing to show its scoreboard engulfed in flames, and has also said that both its pitch rollers have been severely damaged.
The incident is believed to have happened on Monday, and the damage could cost the club up to £5,000, which it says will eat up large chunk of its annual revenue.
In a statement posted on social media, the club said: “Enough is enough. Vandalism has struck again at our ground. This time, our scoreboard has been set on fire in broad daylight this afternoon and both of our rollers have been severely damaged.
“We are absolutely devastated and lost for words. The matter has been reported to South Wales Police, but that does not undo the damage that continues to be caused to our club and facilities.
