Richards reigns supreme in large field to be crowned Jubilee Cup winner

It was reported in last week's newspaper that Aimee Sawyer had come third on countback in the West of England Ladies Open Championship.

Sawyer actually came second on countback, to make it a fantastic Mendip Golf Club one-two in the competition following victory for Libbie Dezis.
The annual running of the Jubilee Cup saw 111 men compete. Division Three was won by Charlie Barber with 69, one ahead of Selwyn Rees who beat Nick Sharp on countback.
Division Two went to Steve Cox with 69, again one clear of Darrin Vowell who edged past Martin Collins on countback.
Jack Vowell was the winner of Division One with 70 in another division which saw the top three covered by a couple of points. Jonathan Watts was a point back, beating Rob Edney on countback.
The cup went to 16-handicap James Richards with fine nett 67, while the gross award went to Dan Owen with 72, with Jack Broadway two back on 74.
The men’s Midweek Stableford saw another 60 take part. Division One this time went to Ben Park with 38 points, finishing two ahead of Martin Stephens with Brad Pike third on 35.
Richard Hayes won Division Two with 38, three clear of Iain Davidson who beat Tom Hill on countback. Division Three was taken by Ian Vincent with 37, after countback from Andy Griffiths, with James Boyce third on 36.
