GROUP OPPOSED TO SOLAR FARMS AND BETTERY STORAGE SUBSTATIONS

COMMUNITIES have marched against solar farm plans prior to a key deadline for residents to have their say.

The five-mile walk through central Lincolnshire takes in countryside that campaigners say would be ruined by solar panels and battery farms.

The route from Coleby to Welbourne could be affected by the proposed Springwell Solar Farm, a new substation at Navenby, and planned battery farms at Coleby, Navenby and Wellingore.

Councillor Marianne Overton (Ind), one of the organisers, said it was a "spirited event with stunning views of the very landscape under serious threat right now". "We are objecting to the vast expanses of expensive industrial solar increasingly occupying open countryside, for the rest of our lives."
