SKEGNESS, MABLETHORPE AND SUTTON-ON-SEA AWARDED FOR CLEANLINESS AND SAFETY
THREE beaches in Lincolnshire have been recognised as being among the best in the UK. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, all in East Lindsey, have once again been presented with a Blue Flag beach award.
This is the world's most recognised award for beaches and marinas, and is only presented to the cleanest and safest beaches, which also meet the highest environmental standards.
The Blue Flag Award is internationally recognised and is considered to be the gold standard for beaches.
To receive the award, the beaches must have water in the highest classification set by the EU Bathing Water Directive.
