CLUB WILL MAKE THE MOST OF MARKET OPPORTUNITIES
AS the transfer window approaches, Michael Skubala said Lincoln City have to make the most of “market opportunities” to maximise their recruitment gain.
The latest opportunity they made the most of was James Collins, an experienced striker with a strong goal record at the level who was in search of game time come January, having been frozen out at Championship club Derby County.
The Imps pushed the boat out financially to grab Collins, who lived locally, and they were rewarded for that risk as he went on to score 10 times in just 14 starts after joining, with another season guaranteed.
Supporters would have asked retrospectively why the move was not made in the summer, but Skubala explained why the chance was not appropriate to go for someone of Collins’ ilk at that point.
