Man banned from keeping animals after dog is rescued

A man from South Tyneside has been banned from keeping animals for four years after being convicted of animal cruelty.

Cameron Joseph Bell pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to his pet dog Pablo, who, magistrates were told, had been left in “appalling” conditions and left without food or water for 48 hours.

Officers from South Tyneside Council said Pablo was extremely underweight, dehydrated and distressed when he was found, along with the remains of two other dogs, in a cupboard at the property in Bamford Walk, South Shields.
