Gordon's half century sets Horses on the way to first Blast victory

KENT Women recorded their first ever Vitality Blast victory, defeating Gloucestershire by 35 runs in the Women's Vitality Blast League T20 at the Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol, on Sunday.

Amy Gordon smashed 55 from 32 deliveries, and Elsa Barnfather finished unbeaten on 42 from 32, as the Horses made 182/5 before limiting the hosts to 147-6 thanks in part to 2 for 21 from Zeena Bilal and an economical 1-19 from Isabella James.

After being invited to bat first, Kent openers Amy Gordon and Grace Poole got Kent off to a strong start - surviving the powerplay whilst striking at around ten runs an over before Poole, searching to find the rope, came down the wicket to Emily Geach to be stumped by Meg Ahearne for 20 from 17.
