CHANGING FACILITIES AND MOWERS FOR BOWLS CLUBS AMONG THOSE SUPPORTED
NORTH Lincolnshire Council has backed a football club's plans for a stand with UK Government cash.
A host of community and sports facilities in the Isle of Axholme and elsewhere in North Lincolnshire have been awarded funding via the council.
This includes more than £130,000 in total awarded to seven projects in the Isle of Axholme via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), a replacement for former EU funding.
Among these is £18,500 for a 50-seat stand for Crowle Colts men's team, which was granted planning permission earlier this year.
The new stand is to have four rows of seating at the club's Windsor Park Sportsground home, off Godnow Road.
A number of local residents made supportive comments when planning permission was sought.
"This stand will make the club accessible as well as create a safe environment for me to sit and watch football," commented a wheelchair user in support. £40,000 is also going to Epworth Town Colts for a changing room and community hub.
