Gers rock Paradise as Chermiti declares title race wide open

YOUSSEF CHERMITI scored a dream Parkhead double to light the blue touch paper on his Rangers career - then declared the Ibrox side are determined to blow the title race wide open.

The £8million man transformed himself from misfit to match winner in one stunning afternoon at Celtic Park.

The Portuguese frontman's second-half brace has left under-pressure Wilfried Nancy clinging to his Hoops job. But it has also propelled a team that looked to be dead and buried as far as Premiership gold was concerned back into title contention.

Danny Rohl inherited a team who were eight points adrift of Celtic and 13 behind table-topping Hearts when the German took over in October. But 11 weeks on, the Light Blues are level with Celtic and six behind Derek McInnes' pacesetters. And Chermiti believes his team can snatch the crown from under Hearts' noses.
