Tearful Lennon admits he was thinking of late father Gerry after semi-final win
EMOTIONAL Neil Lennon admitted he was thinking of his late father as his Dunfermline heroes secured a place in the Scottish Cup Final.
The Pars boss dedicated the triumph over Falkirk to his dad and biggest influence Gerry, who passed away in December, and said: “He would have loved this.”
Lennon fell to the Hampden turf in tears after Tashan Oakley-Boothe slammed home the decisive penalty in a dramatic shootout to book a final showdown with either Celtic or St Mirren.
It will be Dunfermline’s first appearance in the showpiece final since their 2007 defeat to Celtic— coincidentally Lennon’s last appearance for the Hoops.
