Gregor Townsend's side kick off their campaign against Italy in Rome’ Stadio Olimpico on February 7 and will look to bounce back after an underwhelming 2025 in which they suffered Six Nations losses to Ireland, England and France before falling to New Zealand and Argentina in the autumn.

One cause for optimism ahead of the campaign is the flying form of a Glasgow side that provides 19 of the 40 players in the Scottish squad, as Warriors’ win over Zebre in Parma on Saturday sent them top of the URC table and extended their winning run to eight games just a week on from Champions Cup heroics against Saracens.
