AUSTON TRUSTY insists Wilfried Nancy has the steel to handle the enormous pressure that comes with being Celtic manager.

- BY RYAN MCDONALD

Nancy has endured a turbulent start to life at Parkhead after kicking off his reign with a nightmare 2-1 defeat to Premiership leaders Hearts on Sunday.

The Frenchman has also been ridiculed by some for pulling out a tactics board on the touchline as he shuffled his 3-4-3 formation.

But centre-back Trusty is adamant the new boss is more than equipped to rise above the early scrutiny.

He said: "They wouldn't have brought him here if he couldn't absorb the pressure.

"With things that have been said since the past result, we haven't heard one thing from him or it hasn't really affected him in any way. So that’s a good sign.

"Winning solves it all. It'll put us in the right direction but also put him in the right direction in terms of the fans' eye who were maybe saying negative things about him."
