Tragic death toll lays bare betrayal over A9 upgrades

IT'S been a road that has suffered decades of bad management by the SNP and now a new report has shone a light on the tragic cost to human lives.

It has emerged that 321 people have been killed or injured in collisions on the A9 in the past four years. Ministers vowed to dual the whole of the road between Perth and Inverness by this year.

But they were forced to renege on that promise, pushing back the timescale by a full decade despite warnings the lack of action was putting lives at risk.
