Syrian granted asylum as he's 'too frail for care in own country'

A MAN in his eighties living in Syria has been granted asylum here after an immigration judge ruled he will not be cared for at home.

Jabra Yazbek can now benefit from UK healthcare because an immigration tribunal found his needs are not being met in the Arab state.

The Christian widower, 87, is also “desperately lonely” living by himself in a Muslim area with no family around him, it was found.

He has been granted entry clearance to join his son, who is British, and has not been able to visit his father due to “war and safety risks”.
