Scots council area cheapest place to buy first property

A COUNCIL area in Scotland has been named the easiest place in Britain to get a foothold on the property ladder.
Inverclyde includes the towns of Greenock, Gourock and Port Glasgow, affording striking views of the Clyde along an extended foreshore. According to Nationwide, first-time buyers here need only find 2.3 times average earnings to secure the keys to a new home.
By comparison, anyone buying in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea has to fund a purchase with 13.9 times the average earnings.
