Stewards’ Cup fancy Almeraq may not run
PUNTERS have been warned to hold their bets on potential handicap blot Almeraq for the Coral Stewards’ Cup.
William Hill slashed the sprinter’s price to 3-1 (from 16-1) yesterday when he bolted up by five lengths on his handicap debut in the Fergie and Myra Happel Ayr Gold Cup Trial.
Group One-entered Almeraq would carry a 61b penalty if connections chose to turn him out quickly at the Qatar Goodwood Festival on August 2.
