LAWRENCE SHANKLAND declared himself ready to get back to the day job of keeping Hearts top of the Premiership after the euphoria of helping to fire Scotland to the World Cup.

- BY BLAIR ESSON

The 30-year-old Jambos skipper has spent the past few days basking in the afterglow of scoring for the national team in Tuesday's momentous win over Denmark.

But after returning to training with Hearts yesterday, Shankland is relishing the task of trying to maintain their sevenpoint lead when they visit Aberdeen tomorrow.

"Obviously you've enjoyed the last couple of days but you know you're coming back to your graft and it's about getting ready for the next game," said the striker.

"Football's always like that, it moves quickly and | like it that way. I'm coming back into a place full of positivity, people in good places and looking to win football matches, so it's a good place to come back."
